| Pain Medication and Massage |
| When planning to see your massage therapist for that hurting muscle or soft tissue problem, don't take pain medication before your appointment if at all possible. Masking the pain symptoms makes it more difficult for your therapist to accurately assess the severity and probable cause of the disorder. And, you'll have trouble determining whether the therapy is truly within your tolerance. |
| Hidden Hardware |
| Got something bionic under your skin? Be sure to tell your therapist about plates, screws or other hardware from surgical procedures, no matter how old. Ideally, provide a brief explanation when scheduling your appointment. |
| Beware of the PC |
| There's often a direct correlation between long hours spent in front of our PC screen and pain or postural distortion in the neck, shoulders and elbow. Be sure to take frequent breaks and stretch those upper body muscles. |

Benefits of Massage
